Arike Ogunbowale

Arike Ogunbowale was an American professional basketball athlete for the Dallas Wings of the Women's National Basketball Association. She was a player for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in college, before she was selected as the fifth pick overall by the Wings in the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born on February 2nd in 1997 in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale (26 years) as well as Dare Ogunbowale (19 years) are her brothers older than her. Her parents spoiled her the most because she was the most young. Ogunbowale is the recipient of Gold Medals at the 2013 U16 Championships of FIBA Americas in 2014, the FIBA U17 World Championships and 2013 3x3 FIBA U18 World Championships. In July 2014 she was picked to be a member of the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team. Ogunbowale was also included on the ACC All-Freshman Team following her first collegiate year. Kobe Bryant congratulated her after shooting a number of big shots in the NCCA Tournament. Although still a newbie she has earned herself the status of an outstanding basketball pro and is likely to follow her dream.
